Present the Alzheimer's Association with a grant of 3,205,201 krónur

A total of 3,205,201 krónur was raised at the Jazz Village in Garðabær, which took place over the weekend of April 30th – May 3rd. The Alzheimer's Association benefits from the sale and receives unrestricted sales of furniture and items from Góði hirðinn, while Húsgagnahöllin, Tekk and Ikea also contributed to the project.

The Jazz Village in Garðabær is an annual festival that takes place at Garðatorg and is hosted by Garðabær . The Jazz Village offered 25 events; concerts, talks and workshops for children. There were also refreshments, Ásgarður Handwerkstæði sold its products and a food market further spiced up life in the village. Multicolored balls and cozy lounges make the Jazz Village a true fairy tale world intended for the whole family and never before have so many people stayed in the village as this year.

Ómar Guðjónsson, Artistic Director of Jazzþorpsinn, Ruth Einarsdóttir, Operations Manager of Góði hirðisinn, and Almar Guðmundsson, Mayor of Garðabær, presented the grant to the Alzheimer's Association, which was received by Guðlaugur Eyjólfsson, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association.
