Culture in Garðabær is offering a concert with the Salon Orchestra L'amour fou in the hall of the Garðabær Music School on the evening of June 17th.

The ensemble was founded in 1999 and consists of violinist Hrafnhildur Atladóttir, viola player Guðrúna Hrund Harðardóttir, cellist Hrafnkatli Orri Egilsson, double bass player Gunnlaug Torfi Stefánsson, and pianist Tinna Þorsteinsdóttir.

The band released the album Íslensku lögin in 2005, which contains old Icelandic popular songs arranged by Hrafnkell Orri for a salon orchestra. The album has been one of the most played albums on R ásar 1 ever since. L'amour fou played in the 2010 New Year's Eve program on Icelandic television, Álfareiðinn, which was nominated for the 2011 Edda Awards as a culture and lifestyle program of the year. In recent years, the band has performed at the Summer Concert at Kvoslækur, in the Hall in Kópavogur at the Hamraborg Festival and in the RVK Bruggfélag concert series in Tónabíói. L'amour fou is currently working on a new album, Freiðir íslensk lögin, which will be released this fall.

The concert is about an hour long and admission is free.
