This is the second phase of the sale of building rights in the area, with the first phase completed in May 2022. In this phase, approximately 17,600 square meters of apartment buildings and 2,800 square meters of commercial property on two separate plots are being offered for sale.
Vetrarmýri is a total of 20 hectares of building land, fully owned by Garðabær, which is bordered by Hnoðraholt to the north, Reykjanesbraut to the west, Vífilsstaðavegur to the south and the GKG golf course to the east.
The estimated total size of the settlement in Vetrarmýri is around 78,000 square meters of apartment buildings and 45,000 square meters of commercial buildings with a maximum of 785 apartments.
A transportation-oriented area close to natural wonders
Vetrarmýri is one of three planned development areas in Vífilstaðaland. When preparing the local plan, good connections to the main road Reykjanesbraut, public transport and walking and cycling paths and proximity to outdoor activities were considered. In addition, access to nearby community services such as schools, kindergartens, sports facilities, etc. is very good. Bids will be opened at 1:30 PM on the same day at the offices of Íslandsbanki, in the presence of bidders who so request.
