Gardabaer's annual cleanup effort

The annual cleanup campaign, which runs from April 20 to May 4, encourages neighbors, community groups, nonprofit organizations, sports clubs, and schools to participate. Groups can apply to be assigned areas to clean up in their local area and can receive grants to raise funds or host a barbecue at the end of a good cleanup.

Interested groups can contact the Garðabær Environmental Project Manager who will assign areas for cleanup and provide further information:lindajo@gardabaer.is.

Practical points:

· Participants are asked topick up trashin the assigned area

· You can pick up trash bags at the Garðabær Service Center, Lyngás 18.

· The service center also lends trash cans to those in need, as possible.

· Participants are encouraged to sort plastic separately into separate bags.

· Bags should be placed so that they do not blow away and are in a visible location to facilitate reception.

· After cleaning, confirmation and bag location must be sent tolindajo@gardabaer.is, town employees will pick up the bags.
