Former employees invited to visit

A fun tradition has developed in Garðabær that every year, employees who have retired from the Garðabær municipal office due to age are invited to a special reception. This has been done since 2017 and has been well received.
Current municipal office employees are also invited to the reception. This always leads to fun discussions where old times are recalled and current projects and priorities are compared to the work and projects of the past.
The last reception, which took place on Wednesday, May 6th, began with a bus tour led by Mayor Almar Guðmundsson. The trip included a visit to Álftanes, where the community facilities at Lambamýri were inspected.
