Closure of Refugee Road due to construction
A section of Flóttamannaveg will need to be closed starting Monday, April 20th due to construction on a new roundabout.
A section of Flóttamannaveg will be closed from Monday, April 20th to Friday, May 15th due to construction on a new roundabout at the intersection of Flóttamannaveg and Urriðaholtsstræti. The closures will be on the south side at Kaldárselsvegur at Hafnarfjörður and on the north side at the turnoff to Heiðmörk.

It will not be possible to drive through the area during the closure, which means that it will not be possible to drive this route between Garðabær and Hafnarfjörður. It will be possible to drive to the golf course via Holtsvegur in Urriðaholt. It will also be possible to drive into Heiðmörk. Detours will be marked and information signs will be installed at Kaldárselsvegur and Vífilsstaðavegur.
In addition to the roundabout, work is underway on road connections and footpaths, but these projects will improve traffic safety and, not least, improve accessibility for Urriðaholt.
