Ungmennahraun in new housing

The activities of Ungmennahraun, a leisure service for disabled young people aged 16-20, will move to new premises this fall.
The new facility is a carefully designed 190 square meter space at Lambamýri in Álftanes.
Emphasis has been placed on designing a beautiful and accessible environment.
" Garðabær has put a lot of work into designing the space with the needs of young people as a guiding principle. We are very proud to be able to offer leisure services in bright and accessible premises," says Pála Marie Einarsdóttir, Head of Department for Disability Affairs.
Construction work on the space is underway. The space is designed by Nordic Architects and construction and interior finishing is in the hands of Aðalvík ehf. Strendingur is in charge of supervision.
Almar Guðmundsson on behalf of Garðabær and Hrafn Þór Jörgensson on behalf of Aðalvík ehf. signed a contract for the project.
