Opening and closing times in kindergartens
Kindergarten opening hours
- Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM–4:30 PM and Fridays 7:30 AM–4:00 PM.
- It is open all summer, but children must take 4 weeks of summer vacation.
- Closed during Easter break (3 days) and the 1st working day in January. Preschool fees are waived on these days.
- It is closed 5 times a year for planning days that coincide with elementary school days. Schedules can be found on the Garðabær preschool calendar.
Children's stay time
It is usually requested that the length of stay remain unchanged for at least 2–3 months, but the length of stay in the Väla preschool system can be changed.
- A child's stay is flexible from 20–40 hours per week.
- The length of stay can vary from day to day and from month to month.
- A change in length of stay must be registered by the 20th of each month.
- Before the 20th of each month, a child must be registered separately if they want to use the stay between 2pm and 4pm on Fridays in the following month.
