Registration for the reading campaign begins, reading diaries are handed out, and Blaðrarinn makes fun balloon animals. Let's read together this summer!
The opening ceremony of Summer Reading will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 12–2 pm at the Library at Garðatorg 7. Registration for the reading initiative will begin there and reading diaries will be handed out. The Balloon Maker will be on site, making fun balloon animals for the children, and there will also be chalk painting in the square. This is a great way for families to start the summer of reading together in a creative and joyful way. Why should parents bring their children to Summer Reading? Summer Reading is not just a fun activity, it helps children continue to develop their reading skills over the summer months. Regular reading strengthens vocabulary, concentration and self-confidence in learning. When parents participate and read with their children, interest increases, togetherness becomes more valuable and reading becomes a positive habit that follows them into the fall. Reading is my dragon power!
