Cooperation agreement with the Bessastaðasók Youth Association signed

A renewed agreement on youth work by the Bessastaðasóknar Youth Association has been signed.
Garðabær and Bessastaðasók have signed a renewed cooperation agreement on the implementation of youth work in Álftanes. The agreement is valid until the end of 2028 and obliges the Bessastaðasók Youth Association to, among other things, strengthen children's and youth work at the church, provide leadership training for youth, and work towards an improved youth community in Gardabaer.
When implementing the agreement, the Bessastaðasóknar Youth Association shall pay special attention to meeting the needs of disabled children and young people in accordance with the Garðabær policy on issues of disabled people.
The role of the Bessastaðasók Youth Association is, among other things, to:
- Promote children's and youth work at the church, including in the form of Sunday school.
- Strengthen connections with other sports, leisure and prevention activities in Garðabær.
- Manage educational projects for children and youth with an emphasis on human rights, aid work, life skills, and general ethics.
- Conduct leadership training for youth in collaboration with other clubs and organizations in Garðabær.
- Work towards an improved youth community in Garðabær and increase the breadth and options of youth work in the town.
- Offer parent mornings with education and good fellowship.
- Offer assistance with life skills training in FG with education on grief processing and general relief work.
- Appoint a representative to the town's prevention team and participate in prevention education in collaboration with the Gardabær prevention representative.
