Opening hours
- 8th-10th grade: Mondays and Wednesdays from 19:30–22:00.
- 7th grade: 5:00 PM–7:00 PM once a week
- 5th and 6th grade: every 2 weeks
You are free to come and go at any time during opening hours. More detailed opening hours for middle school are advertised on their website and in emails to parents.
Location of Klakan
The club has facilities inside the school's youth area and the director's office is inside the youth department area.
Sometimes the program moves out of the house due to travel or community events or in other collaborations with community centers and schools. The house is then closed for the time being.
Klakan's work
The Klakan program begins in September with an opening ceremony. The program is organized by students in the Social Studies program and Klakan staff. The evening activities are intended for students in grades 8 to 10.
Open house
At open houses, Klakan's tools and equipment are available. On most evenings, a program is offered that the young people themselves design and direct.
Larger events
There are several larger events throughout the year, including: ski trips, overnight stays, annual festival, balls, spring trips and participation in Community events such as the Landsmót, singing competition, dance competition, Stíl and Samfesting.
Clubs
The goal of club activities is to offer a diverse selection of organized leisure activities in a safe environment. The clubs work on specific interests or themes. We welcome ideas for clubs.
Group work
Group work is offered where the projects are based on the needs of the group. Social skills, communication and behavior are worked on. The goal is to empower young people and break social isolation.
We encourage parents to get in touch if they think group activities might be for their child. Otherwise, the groups are formed in collaboration with the school.
