Activities
Ungmennahraun is a specialized after-school service for disabled young people aged 16 to 20 with high support needs. The aim of the after-school service is to provide the young people with a safe and creative environment to promote social skills and independence. The activities take place after the young people's school day.
Opening hours
- Ungmennahraun is open weekdays from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
- It is open during winter holidays, Christmas and Easter holidays and on high school working days from 08:30 to 16:30.
- Closed on red days.

Applications are accepted at Ungmennahraun in Gardabaer service portalOnce the application and supporting documents have been received, the application will be reviewed by the Ungmennahraun admissions team. Once the application is approved, the child must be registered at Väla leisure website.
Application evaluation
When evaluating applications, the following factors are taken into account:
- Diagnosis of a young person's disability from recognized diagnostic providers.
- Support Needs Assessment (SIS) from the Counseling and Analysis Center.
- The educational and social status of young people, social participation and well-being.
- The wishes of the young person or guardian.
- Assessment of individual service needs
