The Garðabær photo gallery is published on a special photography website where you can see images of nature, residential areas, human life, construction projects and cultural events, as well as images related to the municipality's activities.

The photo website is under development and all comments are welcome and can be sent togardabaer@gardabaer.is, with reference to the number of images.

Guidelines for using the photo website
The photo website offers a variety of options for searching for images.
Once you enter the gallery you can findfilterson the left side of the page. There you can find pictures afteryears.
By checking a box next to a specific year, the system distinguishes images from that year from other images.
Miscellaneoussubject nounare listed on the images. The keywords do not appear until a specific image has been selected. The keywords are located on the left side of the page and marked with a blue banner.
Clicking on the keywords will bring up all images that have been tagged with that keyword.
At the top center of the page is a search box where you can enter text for image searches.
Good ways to narrow and broaden your search in that search window are:
Using quotation marks, example:When you type June 17th into the search box, all images containing June 17th will appear. To narrow your search, you can put quotation marks around two or more words, for example, "June 17th." This will return all images containing these two words in that specific order.
Using an asterisk, example:
By placing an asterisk (*) as the last letter of a word, the system searches for all word forms in which the word appears. For example, searching for the word light* will return images that have the words sunlight, photography, light, etc. in their description.
Note that you cannot use an asterisk and quotation marks in the same search.
The photos in the Garðabær photo gallery are owned by Garðabær. The photos appear with a watermark in the photo gallery. If you wish to use the photos, please send an email togardabaer@gardabaer.iswith reference to the image number and information about how the image will be used, i.e. for private use or for public use, such as in publication, on the website, social media, etc.
When selecting images, the authorization for the publication of human life images has been taken into account based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Data and the Processing of Personal Data No. 90/2018. The privacy officer of Garðabær has also been consulted. See Garðabær's privacy rules on the Garðabær website
