Council of Elders
The Elders' Council is a formal collaborative forum where issues and services for older people are discussed. The Elders' Council is responsible for monitoring the health and social well-being of older people in Garðabær and making recommendations to the municipal council regarding services.
Role and main tasks
- To advise the town council and councils of Garðabær on issues concerning older people.
- To monitor the development of policies and concepts for services for older people and make recommendations for changes to the town's services.
- To consult with older people, stakeholders and residents of the town on issues concerning older people.
