Youth Council
The Garðabær Youth Council is intended for young people between the ages of 13 and 20 who are legally resident in the town.
Welfare Council
The Welfare Council oversees all social services in the town. It is elected for a 4-year term.
Council of Elders
The Council of Elders is a collaborative forum where issues and services for older people are discussed.
