Consultative group on issues of people with disabilities
The advisory group represents the interests of disabled people in Garðabær and is their advocate regarding the town's services.
What does the advisory group do?
The group provides advice to the municipal council and institutions on the organization and implementation of the service. The goal of the work is to improve services for disabled people in Garðabær with their active involvement in the planning and implementation of the service in collaboration with the municipal council.
A consultative group on issues of people with disabilities is appointed pursuant to the second paragraph of Article 42. Act on social services of local authorities.
Representatives in the consultative group
The council consists of 6 representatives and a secretary.
- 3 representatives elected by the municipal council.
- 3 representatives are nominated by disability advocacy groups.
- The secretary is an employee of the Gardabær Welfare Department.
The term of office is four years.
