Hrafnista Ísafold – nursing home

Hrafnista Ísafold is located on Sjáland in Garðabær with views of Bessastaði, Gálgahraun, Gróttuvita and out to Faxaflói. The home has a large, sheltered garden that is used for outdoor activities on nice weather days. The home is within walking distance of the coastline where you can take advantage of various fun and accessible hiking trails.

The rooms

• All rooms are single rooms.
• Each room is about 35 square meters, a shared bedroom and living room as well as a bathroom and a kitchenette with furniture, a refrigerator and a sink.
• The rooms have a hospital bed, bedside table, wardrobe on wheels, curtain rods, curtains and roller blinds.
• Rooms have a security call system, connections for telephone, television and computer.
• Householders provide other furnishings and curtains themselves if they wish to make their room even more homely.

The home's philosophy places a strong emphasis on self-determination and resident participation, combining the best of independent living with the security of a nursing home.

Those considering moving to Hrafnista must apply for a skills and health assessment from the Skills and Health Assessment Committee of the Capital Region. A skills and health assessment is a professional, individualized assessment of an individual's needs for permanent nursing care and living in a nursing home.
